I have a few more to share but for some reason it isn’t allowing more than these 2 to show up. So until later, when I can add them I will be gathering more things to show.

Have a happy day!

A Baking Day

I forgot to let you all in on this… But Tina allowed me to help bake a Thin Layer Cake. It is an old fashioned cake and so yummy,or so I heard. For some unknown reason it looks a little off kilter but believe it was standing tall… 11 layers tall.. and all that cooked chocolate icing.. it was everywhere when we got thru. I let TIna clean the kitchen afterwards, as I thought I would lay down and take a nap.. Baking this cake takes alot of time.

Oh how creamy this batter is

A Watery Day

Here Tina is paddling around with Joe

Here Tina is paddling around with Joe

I thought the rain would never ease up. It poured so hard the rain ran down the windows like a sheet of water. When it finally let up, Tina went out to see how much the stream that runs in front of our home had risen. It was way up… It had overflown the banks and was crossing the road. She didn’t take me out in it but I heard the people in the house talking and it sure was an exciting day.

She took pictures and told me I could post them here. There was water so high on the roadway, her sons got the canoe out and took a watery trip down the road and around the turn into the garden.

I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, as flooding can be very dangerous. It was a still water and they knew the area really well. I wish I had been able to go for a ride but needless to say I was safer inside. And I got all the details, while comfortable in my room. It was really a very exciting day for us all.

This is walking down the driveway.

It rose a little higher than this. See the mailbox. It was almost to the bottom of the box when it finally quit rising.

Look at the difference  in water on the mailbox post. It was a good thing it started going down.

Some how I got the pictures in backwards.. They should be in reverse.. But you get the idea.
Well time for me to get back to my comfy chair and do some daily reading. I am reading, “Memoirs of a London Doll” . It is so very interesting. I find it bringing thoughts of the Original Hitty’s story.
